WWII Era US Army Air Force AAF Emergency Survival Machete - Australian Made Aluminum Machete w/Leather Scabbard - Very NICE Condition - RARE
Up for sale is a WWII Era Original US Army Air Force AAF Emergency Survival Machete.  This is a RARE Australian Made Aluminum Survival Machete that was made during WWII for the US Army Air Force Aircrew that was based in the South Pacific.  This machete has an 8.5" Steel blade with an overall length of 13", the handle is made of Aluminum.  The blade is bright, some minor evidence of sharpening.    Minor evidence of sharpening.  The leather of the scabbard is soft and supple.  It is marked "Goldseal 1944 Sydney", it has the Broad Arrow Proof Mark.  There was a leg tie on the rear of the scabbard, but it is no longer present, only a short piece of leather riveted to the rear of the scabbard.  These machetes are RARE and not often seen offered for sale.  The last photo shows the machete from M.H. Coles Book on US Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes.
This would make a great accessory to add to your WWII collection.
