Description

WWII Model 1852 USN-US Navy-Naval Officers Etched Sword with Scabbard, Sword Knot, Dust Cover, Carrying Bag, and Partial Belt. The ricasso is marked "FN" with a crown over it, "Toledo" under it, and "Espana" under that. The guard and grip move a tiny bit if you force them. The grip wrap shows light wear and is 99% complete. The twisted wire is complete. The sword knot is in ok condition and shows wear. The etched blade is clean, straight, has not been sharpened, the tip is sharp, and it has the name Ludolph D. Koven Jr." on it. Felt washer is intact. The scabbard is solid with no dents on the body but the drag has a few dents and is a bit bent which makes putting the scabbard on-off tight by the ricasso area. The brass scabbard mounts have leaf designs and the throat piece has an anchor design. Length of the blade measures 30" (3/4" wide x 3/16" thick), length of the sword is 35 3/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 38 1/2".
The partial belt is unmarked and in ok condition.
The green dust bag is solid. The carrying bag is in good shape but the zipper has become unstitched from one side of the bag, handle is attached, and the bag measures roughly 40" overall.
