    Description

During WWII many makers made knives to meet the demand early in the War.   Many copied the patterns of EGW, CASE and PAL. Looking nearly identical to the originals, these were not made as well, but they did the job during WWII.  This one is a larger EGW Style Pattern Knife  measuring 12" overall with a blade length of 7.5". One of the largest I have seen.  Steel pommel and guard extending out the same length.  All leather handle, very good shape, showing some speckled rust spots on the left side of blade. Handle is excellent with leather spacers and aluminum ones. All tight on blade, handle and pommel and pommel.  Unmarked blade shows some age patina, wear, some moderate sharpening. See photos.   This is a 4th Variation of these Private Purchase Pattern Knives (See Book II Bill Walters US Military Knives WWII, pg. 118.).  No sheath.
