WWII AAF Aircraft Crash Rescue Axe 42D8331, Army Air Forces, B-17 B-24 B-29 B-25
This is a WWII Army Air Forces aircraft crash rescue axe  PN 42D8331. These were carried in all larger aircraft to aid escape in the event of a crash. You would find this in a B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator,  B-29 Super Fortress and the  B-25 Mitchell. I've had a lot of these over the years and this is one of the nicest ones I've had. It has some light rust on it, but it has not been painted, wire brushed or ground on. It is in really good shape and the rubber handle is in very good condition.
