WW2 US Navy Deep Diving Swarm Mine Warfare Dive Knife Authentic Original East US

Description

WWII US Navy deep sea diver's knife with brass scabbard. Entire piece measures 13.5" when the cover is on and 12.5" is the length of the knife. The knife screws into the lid. There appears to be no names carved into the blade, though it is difficult to tell in the current condition. The blade is heavily used and aged. I attempted to unscrew the bottom piece from the handle but was unable to do so with my bare hands and didn't want to damage the piece by using a tool.
This is a retired museum piece acquired at auction that was displayed for many years at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum before being transported to Nauticus museum and finally to the auction where I obtained it.
