RARE VINTAGE WWII WW2 WOODMAN’S WOODSMAN PAL 280 LC-14-B VICTOR TOOL FIGHTING MACHETE KNIFE
Made by Victor Tool company in Reading PA and called a WOODMAN’S PAL 280, LC-14-B is the official Military designation of this knife. This 16”, 24 oz knife is in exceptional condition and a very early War release model as the “Trade Mark” says “PAT APPL’D FOR”. Most of the surviving knifes have Patent # 2335497 stamped on the knife, making this knife a little rarer. The “Guard” has the proper designation letters/numbers stamped in the steel “LC-14-B” and the designation is stamped inside the carrying case as well.
The carrying case is also in exceptional condition, the zipper works great, no tears in the green canvas, no stitching issues, the only wear is where the strap crosses the zipper – see pic.
The WOODMAN’S PAL 280 has all the features particularly valuable for use in the Pacific or jungle areas as it was an “all in one” solution for the military: axe, machete, brush hook, spade and fighting knife (as stated by Victor Tool company literature).
