    Description

    For sale 1 Utica Cutlery Co. M1 Bayonet WWII Modified Model 1905 M1 Garand.
    When the USA joined WWII in Dec. 1941, bayonets were needed quick. Fortunately, there were plenty of Model 1905 bayonets from WWI & The Utica Cutlery Company was one of the 5 or so company tasked w/ modifying the existing bayonets for the newest standard rifle at the time, the M1 Garand.
    This bayonet has a blued approx. 10" w/ spear point & machining marks around point indicating a cut down blade. Ricasso is marked "U. C. / U. flaming bomb / S.". M1 style crossguard w/ .62" muzzle ring diameter. Black synthetic grip panels.
    CONDITION: blade exhibits machining marks around point indicating machine finishing to cut blade. Blade has peppery oxidation throughout w/ cleaned oxidation at crossguard. Grip panels exhibit mildew & peppery oxidation. Pommel & spine exhibit peppery oxidaiton.
