Description

Such was the need for fighting knives during WW2 that many US servicemen crafted custom "theater made" fighting knives while stationed overseas. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 CUSTOM THEATER MADE FIGHTING KNIFE is in very good condition, with a diagonal notch in the upper left side of the blade that appears to be a crude attempt at a top false edge, some rounding to the blade tip, some sharpening to the blade edge, some wavy nicking to the lower blade edge, some cleaning, scratching, pitting, and patina at each side of the blade, three small spots of greenish paint at the middle left side of the handle, some light scratching to the handle, some light spot patina to the guard and pommel, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features an 8 1/4" clip point bowie blade, sports an elegant handle of stacked black and brown hardwood sections with integral finger grooves, and boasts a cast aluminum guard and pommel. A fine example of a rare, original US Army USMC Marine WW2 CUSTOM THEATER MADE FIGHTING KNIFE. No scabbard included. With apologies to our valued international clients, we must restrict bidding to US bidders only. Now celebrating over 20 years on eBay.
