Stunning WWII U.S. Military Issued Cattaraugus 225Q Fighting Knife & Sheath.
Original stunning WWII "CATTARAUGUS 225Q" fighting knife. These knives were made for quartermaster/field use w/a heavy, thick blade for prying open crates and a checkered pommel for hammering. They were popular w/all servicemen and widely used.
Edge is very nice and moderately sharp. Could use a sharpening if planning to use this knife. The length is just under 10 3/8" w/a 5 7/8" blade with very moderate wear with light surface scratching.
The guard is tight. Bottom pommel ring has a little play but knife was designed for heavy use without breakage.
The leather grip is super tight with moderate wear. See pictures.
Sheath is original but weathered as seen in pictures.
This is a knife you would be proud to own and will display beautifully.
