This is about the most unique thing I've ever seen! To be clear it is NOT Snap On brand, but Diebold ( as I understand Diebold supplied equipment primarily to banks- so my assumption is it was originally used in a bank?). Certainly has had a padlock clasp, some red paint and a couple cool vintage Snap On stickers added to it. THE TRICK- with the cover down it is in it's HIGHEST level -stands at 30 1/2" from bottom of rollers to top. With cover open the height of the box from rollers to top is 19"- plus the top hanging above. I hope my description with the photos explains this adequately- it's a odd piece and difficult to really be clear how it works. The useable inside space is really about 3 3/4" only as if you put stuff higher than that in it would likely come tumbling out as the box lowers and raises. The length of the box with cover down is about 25 inches, the width about 20 1/2". Rollers work as they should and notice it has some floor bumpers at the front. Some lever function is present at the front as well-doesn't seem to do anything and I haven't a clue the original function of it. A well built, strong, heavy duty box with the obvious blemishes shown. Any thoughts as to the function this was intended for are welcomed- I spent a few hours trying to research it but came up with nothing. If you want, odd, unique, and possible a one of a kind these days this is it! Yes it is big and heavy so shipping is expensive- can't fix that. I will be unscrewing the top from hinges to reduce the shipping size ( a couple minutes time to put back when you receive the package.
Certainly I have no keys for this- likely been lost for many years. If I were to guess ( and it's only a guess) my thoughts are the vintage is circa 1960's.
If you have questions I am glad to attempt to answer them.
