US Navy Hard Hat MKV Diver's Knife, Excellent Condition.
Manufactured according to the U.S. Navy specifications established in 1929 by the Hull standard plan drawings, it became the world's standard for underwater work. Blade and sheath are both unmarked, indicating that it was made in the 1930s prior to WWII. Highly Collectible. Later models bore maker's marks.
The knife screws into the polished cast brass sheath for security,
everything is held together tightly. The wood handle is securely fastened and in almost perfect condition. The blade is fairly sharp, no nicks or pitting, saw blade side appears functional, light scratches and very faint minor rust spots, tip looks sharp and comes to a point. The sheath is made of polished cast brass, It is in excellent shape, no large dents. Sheath has very minor scratches, flea bite dings and small areas of tarnish.
The blade is 7" and the knife is 13" with an overall length if 13.5" when the knife is screwed into the sheath. Weight 3 lbs.
