    Description

    This is a superb and original United States bayonet and its scabbard manufactured by the American company Kiffe in post-war Japan. When I obtained this 50 years ago I was told these were made for the Korean War.
    The bayonet is steel and with leather ribbed grips. The blade is blackened steel and retains its sharp edge and back edge. The forte is stamped “KIFFE” and “JAPAN”.
    The scabbard is composite construction which has a fixed belt frog. It is stamped “U.S. M8A1” and “T.W.B.”. The tip of the scabbard has a leather thong tie-down.
    Overall, it is in excellent condition for its age. The fixing press-catches work as they should - please see photos for detailed condition report.
    This is part of my 50 year collection of bayonets which I am starting to dispose of - it is guaranteed 100% genuine.
