ORIGINAL WW2 M1 Garand rifle bayonet Pal 1943 with scabbard very good

Description

This is an original US army World War Two issue M1 bayonet for the M1 Garand rifle. It is a modified M1905 Pal 1943, so marked. These were the long 16 inch bayonets reduced to 10 inches during the war. This bayonet has been sharpened and reduced by a quarter inch (please see photo #5).  Bayonet is very good. No foreign markings. Handles are nice and clean, overall a nice bayonet. The scabbard has some wear, good condition, correct WW2 scabbard. The top of the scabbard insert has been painted white, you can still see the "U.S" symbol (please see photo #7). PAL is a desirable maker for the collector.
