    first
    edition of Matthew Brady's Civil War photographs ever authorized by the Library of Congress, and it is the
    only
    collection of albumen prints of these twelve photographs that will ever be issued.
    The portfolio is a striking display piece in itself, satin finished, which has some fading, and stamped in gold.  You will also receive a Certificate of Authenticity and a booklet of commentary on each of the photographs.  All paperwork, when purchased in 1983, will come with this collection.
