M47 Danish Madsen Bayonet from the Denmark/Columbia 1958 Shipment (Rare). This is a true example of an M47 Madsen bayonet shipped from Denmark to Columbia in 1958, these had a serial number range of 0013 to 6493 stamped on the ricasso of the blade as requested by the Columbian Govt., this bayonet is in the serial number range with a 6063 stamp. There are only a couple of bruises on the wood, unsharpened, no rust, some light discoloration on the blade.
Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. No returns.
A little history: The M47 was never a designation, it is thought the Columbian Govt. designated this bayonet as the M58. There are bayonets floating around without serial numbers, these were assembled from spare parts and sold off as surplus and are not from the Columbian shipment. Columbian bayonet serial numbers were matched to the rifle number, there were 6500 (ballpark number) bayonets sent to Columbia, of those 6500, the first 5000 have "stamped" (roll-mark) serial numbers, the last 1500 serial numbers were electro engraved, this bayonet up for auction is serial number 6063 and is electro engraved, it is 1 of 1500 ever produced, a very rare variant.
