M1 Bayonet Military Knife Army Marines

Here is what I think is a used M1 Bayonet.
The blade length is 10" overall length is 14 1/2"
It appears used but in good shape. The sheath is not metal, plastic or fiberglass maybe, marked V P ** V P (with two stars.)
The knife is marked U. C.  U.S.
