KA-BAR USN M2 WW2 KNIFE WITH BOYT (19)-43- SHEATH WITH PROVENANCE

VERY original condition KABAR. Actually got this from an EX-MARINE, ( I know, there are no "ex" marines), and his FATHER was in the Navy in WW2. I will give his name to winning bidder. All I can find with a cursory search was a record of his obituary. I am sure with some diligence and a couple of bucks you can get his service record. Sheath is semi pliable with some light cracking at very top of belt area and the appropriate amount of use and wear. It has the U.S.N. logo as well as the owner's initials...."punched"? very lightly, on the front, sideways. Handle and guard is still tight. ENTIRE knife appears as "in the white" with some scratching , VERY light pitting and "signs" of original bluing in protected areas like the blood groove and cross guard. It has, obviously, been sharpened and is well "used" considering its 80ish year old age. The ORIGINAL, brass, snap seems to function though it is tight, therefor, I don't always snap it as I don't want to break it OR THE THIN LEATHER hold down strap. OVERALL, a VERY nice representative of this M2 type, with provenance!
