Description

EXTREMELY RARE ROBESON USMC KNIFE SHEATH W/WHITE THREAD.  The rarest USMC fighting knives of World War II were the ones made by the Robeson Cutlery Company.  Out of a million plus fighting knives made for the Marines during WWII, only 10,000 were made by Robeson.  Out of that 10,000 many were lost in combat or to rust and rot given the terrible conditions the Marines fought in in the southwest Pacific island campaigns.  Almost all of those 10,000 knives were issued with unique leather sheaths - unique among WWII fighting knife sheaths in that they were made with black, rather than the usual white thread.  However, a very, very few Robeson USMC knife sheaths were made with WHITE THREAD, making them one of the rarest military knife sheaths ever made!  As shown by the photos, this extremely rare Robeson sheath is in excellent condition.  You can tell it is a Robeson sheath by the marking pattern around the top of the retaining snap, which is unique to Robeson retaining snaps.  If you have any questions, please ask before buying or making an offer.  Thanks.
