FAQ
Q: Are the terrain pieces painted?
A: When you place your order, you have three options that you can choose from:
1. Unpainted - Prints that come straight off the printer (you can choose the color of filament you'd like them printed in).
2. Basic themes - Painted and drybrushed to highlight textures and details.
3. Deluxe themes - In addition to being painted and drybrushed, these are finished with a combination of flock, grass tufts, and other materials to create highly realistic, superior quality terrain.
Q: How are the terrain pieces made/what are they made of?
A: All pieces are 3D printed with a type of plastic filament called PLA. From there, they can be painted and finished using a variety of techniques and materials used with traditional terrain crafting.
Q: Do unpainted terrain pieces need to be assembled?
A: The smaller pieces are normally printed as a single piece. The larger pieces are printed in two or more parts and can be easily assembled using superglue.
Q: Are there instructions that show me how to paint my terrain pieces so that they look like the ones in the pictures?

Q: Can I purchase STL files to print the pieces myself?
A: Yes! Files are available at Terrainify.com.
Q: How big are the terrain pieces/what scale are they designed for?
A: Terrain pieces vary greatly in size, from small outcroppings to large hills that can cover a significant portion of your table. The pieces are designed to work with 28mm-32mm miniatures, but most are suitable for use with smaller or larger scales.
Q: Are the terrain pieces durable?
A: Yes! 3D printed terrain is durable and relatively lightweight. Care should be taken when handling painted pieces, but they will stand up to normal tabletop gaming use. In fact, our  terrain pieces are actually more durable than terrain pieces crafted from more traditional materials (foam, cardboard, etc.).
Q: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
A: No. While the falling tree will create vibrations (aka, sound waves), the phenomenon we call "sound" does not exist unless there is someone or something present that is able to interpret the vibrations as sound.
Q: Can I order a custom theme?
A: Yes you can! Just send us a message or submit a request for a custom order. There will usually be an additional fee to cover the cost to develop the theme, which varies based on how much work will be involved to create it. New themes developed this way may be added to our selection of available themes for other customers to order, which means that other people can benefit from your creative vision!
Q: Can I order custom pieces?
A: Yes you can! Just send us a message or submit a request for a custom order. There will be an additional fee to cover the cost to design the piece(s), which varies based on how much design work will be required. Please note that new terrain pieces created for custom orders are the intellectual property of Terrainify, which means that we may add it to our selection of models so that other folks can purchase them. By commissioning custom pieces, you're not only making your own game table more awesome, other gamers' as well!
