On July 19,1958, the diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the People's Republic of China was formally established.In the past 60 years,the bilateral ties have been constantly developed.In December 2010,the relations between the two countries were elevated to the comprehensive strategic partnership,and the leaders of the two sides visited each other frequently.In October 2016,a new chapter in bilateral relations was ushered in as the result of Chinese President Xi Jinping' s visit to Cambodia.The two sides signed 31 cooperation documents and a target of nearly 5 bilion U.S. dollars of bilateral trade was set. The leaders of the two countries unanimously decided to make Cambodia and China continue to be "good friends with highly mutual trust,good partners in perfect sympathy with each other,and a community with a common future and shared fate.
2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China.For the purpose of a grand celebration for this historical moment,as well as promoting the friendly cooperation between the two countries and inhenting the traditonal long-standing fnendship between the wo countries,the National Bank of Cambodia has specially issued the "commemorative banknotes for the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Cambodia and China",so as to commemorate the 60 years of friendship between the two countries.This version of commemorative banknote is based on the 2007 version of the Cambodian currency,Its front side mainly carries the image of Cambodian Preah Vihear Temple.The lelt side is marked with the Cambodian phonetic version of the "60th Anniversary of Cambodia and China".The main image on the back side represents the Cambodian people's harvest scene and the image of Angkor Wat,which is a world cultural heritage site,The words "commemorative banknote for the establishment of relations,warmly celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China" are on the right side.Such a small piece of banknote embodies Cambodia's national cultural philosophy,humanistic landscape and local customs,and in the meanwhile,it demonstrates the bilateral relations between Cambodia and China with friendship for generations.
