AFH m1 Garand bayonet, battlefield used

AFH m1 Garand bayonet
made by the American fork & hoe company during WWII
bayonet is in nice shape aside from the chipping on the blade and slight deformation on the spine from being struck
has lovely aged patina as well
i would like to believe this damage occurred out of necessity during the war although i cant verify nor deny such things, i can only hypothesize based on my observation that this tool was used to cut something for important reason
none the less it is a neat historical collectable with another story we may never get to know
