This listing is for 50 Different Steel Engraved US Stock Certificates. That's right, 50 different Capitalist Gems that represent the LIVING HISTORY of the post WW2 Economic Boom that made America the richest, most powerful nation on earth.
Paper stocks are no longer being issued - these days all share transactions are processed digitally. That means the very finite supply of surviving stocks from the 20th Century is becoming rarer by the day. While coins, stamps and currency were all issued in the millions if not billions, the average stock issue was only in the 1000's (very seldom over 100,000). Ever stricter rules put in place by the SEC between the 80's and 2000 led to the complete destruction of the vast majority of issued stocks, making the ones offered here even more special.
Every cert is beautifully engraved via the intaglio method (using steel plates), most by the American Bank Note Co. or its affiliates. The designs are etched right in the paper, not merely printed on it, and many are art deco masterpieces.
The companies included read like a who's who of American Commerce BEFORE the digital age.
