    Description

Ladies and Gentlemen I bring you the coolest speakers you will see for quite some time- Dallas Arbiter Sound City 12" model 122190, completely restored from the ground up. I have been doing speaker reconing professionally for the last 5 years. In that time, these have been sitting in my shop with blown coils, staring at me from a shelf and demanding to be reconed. After 10s of hours of research, parts sourcing, measuring, and sizing, I am proud to say that they are restored to their former glory.
The cones themselves, yes indeed, are new old stock Pulsonic. Don't ask where I got them from because I was told not to tell anyone (out of respect for them being contacted by everyone and their mother).
The gaskets are Celestion foam. I wanted to use the thin profile chip gaskets they used to use but the Celestions press much nicer against the baffle of rear loaded cabinets (which I assumed these would be going into) so I made that executive decision myself.
The coils are unfortunately 8 ohms each. I was not happy about this, but after years of searching all I was able to muster up were 8 and 32 ohms. I thought 8 was more useful an impedance since they can be used as a pair at 4 or 16 rather than just 16. This was a tough call to make but it truly was necessary to get these speakers back in working order.
The original magnet cover is missing from one of the two speakers.
The domes are Altec standard. These are the only aluminum domes we could source other than JBL (too big). Unfortunately they have not made aluminum domes with flanged edges in quite some time and none of my connections in the industry would sell me any of their private stock. If you knkw where I can buy flanged edge aluminum domes with or without screen centers, please send me a private message as we can use them for future projects and customer repairs.
These speakers mean a lot to me and the faculty of my shop. Everyone took part in their restoration in some capacity and we are proud to  offer them to you today. These recones were done professionally by folks with years of experience with the absolute utmost of care and consideration in mind. I implore you to consider these things when bidding. This is the closest you will ever get to original Sound City era Dallas Arbiter (Fane) speakers ever again.
    Final note-
We repair speakers 7 days a week. If you have a speaker that needs repair, contact us. We repair every brand from the ones you know and love to the random no-name speaker you found in your Gandma's Kay amp from 1956. There is not a speaker I will not take the time to source parts for so it can once again sound and look as original as possible. Some of the kits that I get come from the original manufacturers, so in many cases the recone we do will actually be similar to that of a brand new speaker from said manufacturer. We hope you have a wonderful day and wish the best of luck to you in your sonic  explorations.
